What is SEO and how it helps your Joomla sites? | CMS Teaching

Today, I have a small introduction to what SEO is and how it can help your Joomla Websites. This blog post is mainly for starters who have never heard and/or used SEO before.

However for the professionals that read this, I will be talking about different things that will make you remember what are the important things regarding SEO and probably I will make you disagree with some of my teachings.

In my personal opinion, there are Four SEO Things that you should always focus on if you want to become an SEO Guru, but before going there let’s start with what is SEO.

Now in simple terms what is SEO? Well first of all SEO means Search Engine Optimization and SEO is the process to optimize your website in order to Rank Higher on the Search Engines. The main goal is to achieve page number one in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

If you learn how to effectively apply SEO to any of your Joomla Websites regardless of which version you use (Joomla 1.5 or Joomla 2.5, 3.5, etc…), you will rank better on the search engines.

And when I mean better, I mean a lot better. This is only a very tiny but tiny proof of what I am talking about.

Page Number One for CMS Teachings in Google for Make Money Joomla

Let’s imagine this, you just have developed a new Joomla Website and you want that website rank Page Number One in the Search Engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Well, what do you need to do in order to make your website appear on page number one inside the Search Engines? The answer is simple and that’s when SEO comes inside the picture.

Now before continue let me tell you that SEO is too Freaking Easy to understand and you will be amazed how easy is than even a Chimpanzee can do it.

Well not exactly like that but I hope you get the picture on the easiness part inside SEO. The problem here is that SEO is too tedious that can discourage the fainthearted person very easily.

However if you do a good SEO, you will be more likely 1) to appear on page number in every Search Engine and 2) your probabilities to make money online will increase. Now you need to know that there are Two Types of SEO and also that SEO has Two Sides like in life.

But what I mean with two types and two sides? Are you wondering? Hold on, just bear with me and you will find out what I am talking about.

In order to learn SEO, you will need two learn Two Types of SEO, the first one is On-Page SEO and the second one is Off-Page SEO.

In simple terms, On-Page SEO is everything related to the optimization you do directly inside your website. That optimization could be related to the Text, Pictures, Videos, and any Special HTML Markup you use on your site like Meta Tags and H1 Tags.

On the other hand, Off-Page SEO is everything related to all the optimization you do outside your website. This is also known as Link Building.

Link building is basically the process to build links inside other websites. Those links mainly should be pointed to your blog or website as links.

Sounds easy huh? It is.

The second most important knowledge that you should also know is the two sides of SEO. Have you ever watched Start Wars? Do you remember Lord Vader? Well if you do, you definitely remember the Dark Side deal inside the movie, right? Well as the movie Start Wars has its good side and its evil side, SEO is not the exception.

In SEO, you will find a good SEO and an evil SEO. In this case, we refer to the negative side as Black Hat SEO and to the good side as White Hat SEO.

There is also another type of SEO that has been named Grey Hat SEO which normally stays between the two techniques from above (Black Hat SEO and White Hat SEO.)

Now I am not going to be talking too much in here because I already prepare a special blog post on these topics. What I want to tell to those people that think Black Hat SEO is bad, I will say to them that yes some part of the Black Hat SEO is really nasty and I personally don’t use it, but there are another specific parts from the Black Hat SEO world that when combined with White Hat SEO will really revamp and will help you in your SEO overall.

Remember when I am referring to Black Hat SEO, I am not referring to E-Mail Spamming, Keyword Stuffing, Stealing Credit Cards, Cheating Customers, Hacking Websites, or anything that can probably put you in jail.

Let’s be honest, I am not talking to kill anyone in here or going against any governmental law.

I am not recommending you to do the really nasty side of the Black Hat SEO. That is just not me. However, I won’t be able to explain all the reasons in here but don’t worry I already prepared a special post for you to learn a little bit more about this.

Black Hat vs White Hat SEO. Why you need them equally?

Again I know people won’t like the Black Hat SEO techniques because they believe that those things are wrong. But they need to learn the Black Hat SEO techniques and combine some Black Hat SEO Techniques with White Hat SEO Techniques and believe me, you can beat anyone out there. However that decision of learning everything that I mentioning in here will be up to you.

So if you really want to kick anyone’s ass out there in SEO, I will always recommend you to learn all these 4 techniques.

1. On-Page SEO
2. Off-Page SEO
3. White Hat SEO
4. Black Hat SEO (Apply only a few techniques, not the nasty ones.)
