What Google Page Rank is and how it works?

What Google Page Rank is and how it works?Today I will be talking about Google Page Rank and how it works. Together with that, I am going to give you the general idea behind increasing your Google Page Rank.

Now I am not going to give you Formulas to calculate Google Page Rank or even exact strategies to increase your Google Page Rank. What I am going to explain in here is basically general ideas what Google Page Rank is, how it works, and how it is normally increased.

Again this post will show you only the general ideas. So those who are starting to work from home learn about Google Page Rank.

Now Google Page Rank can do one important thing to your site and that is that it can help your Websites to get a better Search Engine Result Pages (SERP) and as result you can get more visitors.

Side Note: Google Page Rank is only one from many different factors that let your SERP increase.

SERP = Search Engine Result Pages

What Google Page Rank is?

In general terms, Google Page Rank can be seen as a popularity ranking tool because in fact that is what Google does when ranking websites. Google basically with the algorithm behind PR will give more page rank to the more popular websites. The more popular your Website is, the better Google Page Rank and SERP (Search Engine Result Pages), your website can have.

How Google Page Rank Works?

The process behind this tool is that it generally checks the amount of links that are pointing to your site, but it also checks what kind of sites are pointing to your site, how powerful those websites are (Domain Authority, Page Authority, etc), and how much actual PR those websites have. Plus many other factors of course.

How you can increase your Page Rank?

One of the main factors to increase your Google Page Rank and SERP is by just increasing the links that are pointing to your website. Now I am not telling you to get just a bunch of links and that will do it. That’s not the key formula. Unfortunately there are a lot of different factors that Google normally uses to calculate page rank and because of that I cannot really give all of them in just a normal blog post.

Now as you can see in the picture below, the Big Red Circle represents your website and the Blue, Green, and Yellow (Yellow) circles represent other websites around the internet. So basically in order to increase your PR (Page Rank), you will need to have other websites point links to your site. The more links you have the better but if you get links from websites that have already a good Page Rank and if those links are DoFollow Links, you will be more likely to increase your Page Rank more easily and faster.

Remember these two key points.

1) If you get links from websites with higher Page Rank and 2) if you get links with the DoFollow Link Attribute or without the rel="nofollow", the better the chances your website will get a higher Page Rank too and the more likely your website will start ranking better on the Search Engines.

How Google Page Rank Works

As a quick summary, Google Page Rank is basically a tool that ranks websites on the internet. The way that this system works is that it checks how many links and what websites are pointing to your site, so it can determine your PR (Page Rank).

Finally if you want to increase your Google Page Rank, the best thing you can do is to get links from websites that have already a good PR and that will let you create links with the DoFollow Attribute or without the rel="nofollow". In that way your SERP and Page Rank will increase and your online success rate will be a lot better.

So guys for this post that’s it but if you still have more questions about this topic, just leave your comment below and I will be more than glad to answer your questions.

For the mean time take care and I will see you soon.

I appreciate the information you have given here as it relates to PR. I understand the lower the # the lower the PR and vice versa so a PR7 carries more weight than a PR 1 for example. Please let me know if that is incorrect.
My question is this: HOW do you get a PR whatever site to "POINT" to your website? If I put a hyperlink within my article and it is google for example that isnt the same as having google put a link on their site referencing me, correct? so how do you do this? If I comment on this site, assuming you allow 'do follow', does the fact i commented here allow a 'link' back to my site? Any info is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    jeff

Yes the higher the PR the better. If you want to get links try to get from a high PR Site.

If I put a hyperlink within my article and it is google for example that isnt the same as having google put a link on their site referencing me, correct?

No it is not the same, ideally will be that Google put a link on its page pointing to you. If you put a link on your site from an authority site like Google it will basically won't count.

If I comment on this site, assuming you allow 'do follow', does the fact i commented here allow a 'link' back to my site?

Yes it does count towards you. However, remember that to be successful online you need targeted traffic and search engine optimization is just one way. In this case link building strategies will help you getting more quality links to your site.

How do you do it? SEO is easy to understand but it is to tedious to implement. The best thing you can do is apply the 80/20 rules and find the link strategies that work the best for you. You can get links from Blogs, Articles, Social Medial, Forums, Link Baits, etc. etc.

I have heard people said that in the past, but in my experience I will say no. You should focus more on links with Page Rank pointing to your site. In other words, get inbound links with good PR.
