Top 6 Joomla Commenting Extensions under Yslow Speed Test

Have you ever wonder why your Joomla Sites becomes so slow when implementing new commenting systems?
Well with this simple but quick post, I will open your eyes what is going on behind lines with these commenting systems.
I have tried to choose the top 6 Joomla Commenting Extensions in the market today which are relatively easy to implement and use.
By the way all of these extensions are non-commercial or FREE.
What we actually did was test these known Joomla Commenting Extensions under the Yslow System Ratings and find out which one will be the one that will be seriously slowing down our Joomla Sites.
We just only analyze 2 main things.
1. The amount of HTTP Request that the extension produces
2. The amount of Kilobytes the Extension produces.
If for some reason you did not know the more HTTP Request and the more Kilobytes your Joomla Website has, the slower it can become.
Now we start the test inside a single Joomla Page with the following settings.
Original HTTP Request: 14
Original Total Weight: 364.4 KB

Now before you go ahead and watch the final results, you need to keep in mind that all these results can be improved upon extra work but again we are assuming that you are not an expert in Joomla and we only measure the Comment Extensions after just simply installing them.

The Winner is: sliComments
1. Udja Comments added 3 extra HTTP Request
2. sliComments added 2 extra HTTP Request
3. DiscussIt Comments added 9 extra HTTP Request
4. JComments added 7 extra HTTP Request
5. Disqus Comments added 21 extra HTTP Request
6. Facebook Comments added 13 extra HTTP Request
HTTP Request Results
The Winner is: sliComments
1. Udja Comments added 41 extra Kilobytes
2. sliComments added 10 extra Kilobytes
3. DiscussIt Comments added 62 extra Kilobytes
4. JComments added 55 extra Kilobytes
5. Disqus Comments added 161 extra Kilobytes
6. Facebook Comments added 246 extra Kilobytes
Notice: All these results are without any comment being done inside the extension, so just start imaging when people start commenting.
Those HTTP Requests and Kilobytes will keep growing.
I have to admit that I was surprised by these results and now I actually believe that this sliComments Extensions is a simple and powerful Commenting Joomla Extension.
You can easily use this extension inside your Joomla Sites without getting worried about them slowing down.
Now I have to say that I just found out a small problem with the extension because the send button was under lapping the text comments box and sometimes was difficult to hit the send button.
However I cannot comment further on this because I did not contact the developer for this problem.
What was the worst extension on this test?
Well I have to definitely say that Disqus and Facebook Comments were the worst.
Which extensions this Joomla Blog uses?
We use Udja Comments. We think it is still a good simple option.
